Pool,
Billiards, and Pool Halls
in Puerto Vallarta
Looking
to shoot a little pool in Puerto Vallarta?
Your hotel might have a pool table in
their recreation area, or you might
have to go out to find a game. Here
are some tips on finding a game on the
felt.
VIEJO
VALLARTA ('Old Vallarta', south
of the Cuale River) has several good
bars with decent tables:
"The Hangout" has an acceptable table,
plus cheap drinks on Madero just east
of Vallarta.
"Asadero's" on Basillio Bodilla, just West of Constitution St. is a friendly bar, restaurant, and gringo pool-table hang-out.
"Pedro's Bar del Puerto" on the South side of V. Carranza Street between Constitution and Vallarta. Friendly little place.
There's
also an old-school pool hall, with about
15 tables, just up the street from La
Bariga...it's a flashback to your grandfather's
pool hall.
EL
CENTRO's (Downtown) billiard
action is mostly on the north end:
Pool
Vallarta is a nice place with
8 tables where you can rent by the hour
and not worry about having to give up
your stick if you lose a game, about
$3 (usd) per table/hour. Music and video
screens and cheap beer as well.
Dollar's
Bar is actually an 'after hours'
bar that doesn't open 'till 8pm and
closes 12 hours later. Shoot some pool
here.
FURTHER
NORTH in Puerto Vallarta the
pool action is a little more scattered:
Bill's
Bar is on the south end of
the 'hotel zone', and has 3 tables plus
a pinball game (rare in Mexico) and
air hockey. It's a friendly joint. Click
HERE for more details.
Bowlarama
has a pool table, and of course
bowling. Click
HERE for more details.
Brando's
is a Marina hang out with two tables,
open air but under a palapa, next to
the boats. Also a pretty decent restaurant
and big margaritas.
