Whale Watching Tours
in Puerto Vallarta

Whale-watching in Puerto Vallarta is a popular activity, full of fun and excitement upon meeting these incredible friends of the deep.

BY FEDERAL LAW, whale-watching tours must be certified; may only operate between December 15 through March 30; and must meet strict standards for navigation near the whales. Only a few qualified operators are licensed each year to insure that our whale visitors continue to thrive and return. Don't risk your whale watching trip to un-trained, un-safe, and un-licensed tour operators, which unfortunately still find ways to solicit their trips to unsuspecting visitors. Because the number of whale-watching tours is limited to protect these majestic animals, reserving your trip is important, as seats may already be filled by the time you arrive.

Please take a moment to review the trips below and choose the trip you want to reserve in advance. Each whale-watching tour is a little different and offers something unique...choose the one that's right for you, and rest assured that only qualified, certified, and whale-friendly tours are represented here. Griffin Page, Puerto Vallarta's naturalist and eco-guide, certifies that these tours not only meet all Federal requirements, but are actually environmentally-concious and will offer you a wonderfull and educational day searching for our massive ocean friends. Of all the whale-watching tours offered in Puerto Vallarta, a certified naturalist and eco-guide recommends these as the best!

WHALE PHOTO SAFARI

A photo captures a single moment in time, and this specialized excursion is designed to capture the magical moment when you encounter wild dolphins and majestic humpback whales in the Bay of Banderas. The essence of the Whale Photo Safari is to find the wildlife and enjoy those precious moments when you can sit peacefully and watch the whales and dolphins play, breach, eat, or just hang out.

SEASON: Every Monday through Thursday, December 15 through March 30.

HIGHLIGHTS:
Conducted on 27 ft "pangas," our whale watching photo safaris are guided by exceptionally talented marine mammal behavior experts who are passionate about protecting wildlife and the environment. As we follow these magnificent mammals across Banderas Bay, our professional guides' knowledge and insight will give you a deeper understanding and appreciation for the wildlife that you'll encounter on this unforgettable whale watching experience.

There is no such thing as a "typical day" on this adventure tour...often it is the "wild ones" (the whales and dolphins) who are in charge of the daily itinerary. We can't always predict where they are, so we will let them guide us along their preferred route of the day.
