Your U.S. or Canadian Consulate
in Puerto Vallarta can assist in passport and immigration
problems, and help in times of serious emergencies here
or ‘back home’.
They have VERY limited ability
to assist should you find yourself in serious trouble with
the law! The law in Mexico is based on Napoleonic Code,
which basically says you are guilty until proven otherwise.
Best Advice: Do NOT get into trouble with the law in Puerto
Vallarta!
Canadian Consulate:
Located in the building next to Coppel just south of the entrance
to Canto del Sol and across the street from HSBC bank; enter
the building next to the Farmacia Guadalajara (Pharmacy),
2nd floor, suite 108.
Phone 293-0098 or 293-0099, open 9am to 3:30pm Monday-Friday.
After-hours call (toll free) 01-800 706-2900.
United States Consulate:
NEW LOCATION. Apparently the U.S. Consulate Officer found it easer to work closer to HER home (rather than close to her "clients"), so the new location is all the way out in Nuevo Vallarta. Call for directions.
Open 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, Monday through Friday (except U.S.
holidays)
Phone 222-0069 or 223-0074; after-hours call the Guadalajara
consulate offices (long distance) by dialing 01-333-268-2145
